Dr. Maritza Cuevas

PT, DPT
Physical Therapist

Hi, I’m Maritza Cuevas, a physical therapist specializing in pelvic floor therapy. I grew up in Loudon, Tennessee, and feel incredibly grateful to now serve women in this region through my work. I’m passionate about women’s health. I am passionate about improving awareness and access to pelvic floor rehabilitation. I truly believe every woman deserves to feel confident, supported, and in control of her body.

I became a physical therapist because I love connecting with people and helping them feel their best. I went to East Tennessee State University for undergrad and then earned my Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. My goal in every session is to make patients feel comfortable, supported, and truly listened to.

My core values are: family, compassion, and advocacy.

“If you continue catching the vase when it falls, everyone will continue thinking the shelf is sturdy.”

I hope to incorporate my neuro skills with the outpatient population to decrease fall risk in the geriatric populations and help patients return to/achieve an active lifestyle. I want to utilize my bilingual skills in order to bridge the gap between non-English-speaking members of the Spanish community and healthcare professionals.

I love treating patients with neurological disorders and pelvic floor dysfunctions.

I have a certification in Lee Silverman Voice Treatment (LSVT), which helps patients diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease.

I enjoy working for Simply Physio because of the passion that all the clinicians have to help the patients. I like the relationship the staff have with each other and how close everyone is. I love the idea of making the patients the priority of the clinic.

When I’m not working, I’m soaking up time with my husband and little boy, who keeps life fun and busy. I love being with family, curling up with a good book, and traveling.
