When you have low back pain, stiffness or aches, it's easy to think that it's ”no big deal” and that it will go away on its own… eventually. You might just think that it’s a normal pain that comes with age. But now it is threatening your ability to do something you love or need to be able to do.

A lot of times the pain isn’t caused by anything obvious. But now, it doesn’t seem to be going away, and is getting worse!

Most people think that back pain will just go away on its own. That they'll wake up one day and the pain will magically go away as if it never happened. But six weeks later, they're still having back pain and not only that, it has become worse.

Another scenario that we see here at our office is that people go to their doctors, and the doctors tell them to rest, take medications and “see how it goes”.

Unfortunately this is rarely the best advice. A lot of times, you end up going back to the doctor again because the pain hasn’t changed. Worse of all, you are given more medications, stronger pills and advised to get more rest. Or your told by their doctor to see a specialist whose advice is a shot or to have surgery. This explains why so many people are living with chronic low back pain.

Why does low back pain last longer than it should? It's easy to get confused because you've been told so many different things by different people. There are lots of people out there who are happy to give you advice, but not all of the things you hear are reliable.
