Dr. Maritza Cuevas

PT, DPT
Physical Therapist

I grew up in Loudon, TN, but am originally from Mexico. I graduated from ETSU with my bachelor’s degree in biology in 2019 and then received my doctorate of physical therapy in 2022 from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga.

I have been a licensed physical therapist since 2022 and have been working at an outpatient clinic with a variety of patient populations and diagnoses. I want to utilize my bilingual skills in order to bridge the gap between non-English-speaking members of the Spanish community and healthcare professionals.

My core values are: family, compassion, and advocacy.

“If you continue catching the vase when it falls, everyone will continue thinking the shelf is sturdy.”

I hope to incorporate my neuro skills with the outpatient population to decrease fall risk in the geriatric populations and help patients return to/achieve an active lifestyle. I want to utilize my bilingual skills in order to bridge the gap between non-English-speaking members of the Spanish community and healthcare professionals.

I love treating patients with neurological disorders and pelvic floor dysfunctions.

I have a certification in Lee Silverman Voice Treatment (LSVT), which helps patients diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease.

I enjoy working for Simply Physio because of the passion that all the clinicians have to help the patients. I like the relationship the staff have with each other and how close everyone is. I love the idea of making the patients the priority of the clinic.

I love spending time with my husband Bryan and our son Nathaniel. We enjoy traveling, playing UNO, eating, listening to music, and spending time with friends and family.
