Starting Simply Physio was a huge step of faith for me, my wife, and our family. My wife, Faith, and I met in Chattanooga back in 2007, right as I was finishing physical therapy school. We married in November 2009, and the journey started from there: a home remodel, a physical therapy residency, and three kids in just over four years.
Eventually, my work environment had gone stale, and my entrepreneurial spirit kept swelling. That meant a hard decision: leave a secure, well-paying job for the uncertainty of starting my own practice, moving back to my hometown, and starting over in a lot of ways: new community, new church, new house project, three young kids in tow.
Faith stood by me through that decision. I expected to have to convince her, to argue for why it made sense despite the sacrifice it would take. Instead, she trusted me, even in moments when I didn’t fully trust myself. So in the spring of 2017, we packed up and moved to Knoxville.
Since then, there have been hard times and genuinely sweet ones. I’ve worked harder and longer than I thought I could, and Faith has matched that: raising our kids, volunteering in the community, and leading our own home renovation along the way. In the moments I’ve doubted or dragged my feet, she’s been the strength that kept us moving forward.
Looking back on our marriage and everything it took to get Simply Physio off the ground, I’m reminded how much we’ve been carried through, and how little I’ve changed while Faith has kept showing up for our family anyway. She’s the reason this practice exists in the first place, and she’s still the best thing I’ve got going.
